Since her 2015 debut EP, Yung Baby Tate has defied classification. Often rapping and singing over her own production, the Atlanta native has a unique ability to switch sonic gears seamlessly; her recent BOYS project opens with an ear-splitting banger about sexual freedom ("A real man gon' know I can fuck who I want/ Don't call me no ho and don't call me no slut") before shifting to bright and bubbly pop a few songs later.

Tate's new video for "Back Up," which premieres on The FADER today, is a simple visual with a straightforward message. Over a pulsing self-produced beat, she raps about ridding herself of toxic men and women who won't let her breathe. "Have you ever had a stalker? Someone who doesn't understand the concept of personal space?" Tate told The FADER over email. "Tell that lil baby to back up!"
