Roc Nation will launch a television production division, Variety reports. The division will be led by Patrick Reardon, who previously served as an executive VP and co-head of Weinstein Company's TV department. He'll focus on creating both scripted and unscripted content for the new endeavor.
“Roc Nation is such an influential and dynamic company," Reardon told Variety. "I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them as they expand their brand into television."
This new division comes after a handful of film and television projects were developed through Roc Nation. Spike TV’s (now Paramount Network) Time: The Kalief Browder Story recently won a Peabody, while Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Both were produced by JAY-Z. An unscripted series for Amazon is also reportedly in the works.
