Jordan Peele is making a docuseries about Lorena Bobbitt

He’ll executive produce the four-part series for Amazon.

Jordan Peele will executive produce a four-party docuseries about Lorena Bobbitt for Amazon, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The project and will tackle "the infamous 1993 incident" in which Bobbitt severed her husband's penis after he allegedly committed domestic violence against her, and "ensuing media frenzy" following her arrest.

"When we hear the name 'Bobbitt,' we think of one of the most sensational incidents to ever be catapulted into a full-blown media spectacle," said Peele in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. "With this project, Lorena has a platform to tell her truth as well as engage in a critical conversation about gender dynamics, abuse and her demand for justice. This is Lorena's story, and we're honored to help her tell it."

Called Lorena, the series is being created through Peele's company Monkeypaw and with Bobbitt's full participation. No dates or casting have been announced at this time.
