OVO Sound Radio has finally returned to to bless our Saturdays after almost 4 months away from the airwaves. In the time since the last episode dropped in early December, Drake has released his Scary Hours EP, which featured the chart-topping smash "God's Plan" and has jumped on BlocBoy JB's "Look Alive" among other appearances.
The episode kicked off with a starter mix from OVO's Oliver El-Khatib, followed by a special guest mix from Othertone's Pharrell Williams and Scott Vener. El-Khatib then finished things up with a second set.
Oliver's mixes featured a medley of all Drake's recent work since the last episode, kicking things off with "Diplomatic Immunity" before swiftly transitioning into a few other Drake laced tunes including "Walk It Talk It," Lil Wayne's "Family Feud" remix, and "God's Plan." He also played a lush stream of tunes from Sonder, including the swooning "One Night Only" as well as tracks from Toronto up and comers BlockBoi Twitch and Lou Val.
El-Khatib's first set finished off with a brand new jam packed "Gucci Gang" remix.
For the Othertone mix, Pharrell began by promising a new song at the end of the mix and proceeded to bounce between fiery U.K. grime tunes, and breezy electronic records including MorMor's "Heaven's Only Wishful" and tunes from Charlotte Day Wilson's Stone Women EP. The Othertone team set the airwaves ablaze by finishing with an exclusive premiere of the "Lemon" remix featuring a new verse from Drizzy himself.
