Lauren Auder’s “for those who patiently endure” video is a dizzying portrait
The London-based experimental pop artist shares a new EP today on True Panther Sounds.
Lauren Auder is a 19-year-old artist living in London who makes pop that's at once futuristic and as timelessly composed as a shot in Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. His debut EP Who Carry's You is an enchanting release, and today The FADER is premiering the music video “for those who patiently endure.” The song takes notes on balancing the airy and industrial from Björk's classic album Homogenic, while Kevin Elamrani's visuals place Auder in a corner, all white and perpetually transcending his confined space.
"'for those who patiently endure' feels like the purest expression of all I wanted to say on this record," Lauren Auder told The FADER in an email. "Musically speaking, the track written and produced by dviance and I, and features the various influences I wished to showcase the clearest. As for the video my friend Kevin and I came together to reflect the intimacy of the project as well as its transformative nature."
