Sade’s “Flower of the Universe” is here
Her first song in seven years.
Sade's long-awaited contribution to A Wrinkle In Time's soundtrack is here. It's called "Flower of the Universe," and it features production from No I.D., who previewed the track on his Twitter yesterday before it was taken down. The song fits neatly into the pantheon of Sade, a silkily ethereal and all-encompassing lullaby of sorts. Watch the song's official lyric video below.
"Flower of the Universe" is Sade's first new song since 2010's Soldier of Love (though 2011's The Best of Sade featured a handful of unreleased tracks). "I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway," director Ava DuVernay said, regarding Sade's appearance on the Wrinkle soundtrack. "She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget."
