It's been nearly twenty years since Black Star's last album, Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star was released in 1998. Now, all signs point toward the duo gearing up for new music in 2018. Talib Kweli posted a photo of him with Yasiin Bey and Kanye West in the studio a few weeks ago, with the caption "2018 is looking good..." Then, last weekend, Bey mentioned the project during a dj set in Denver, CO. Today, producer Madlib has seemingly confirmed the project's existence, Pitchfork reports. A newsletter for Madlib's Rappcats said that the producer and Black Star have been talking about “how they might make [a new album] happen.” Stay tuned for more.
