LeBron James will produce a new version of the 1990s franchise House Party for New Line Cinema, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He'll be joined by his SpringHill Entertainment partner, Maverick Carter. Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori will write the screenplay, which James says will be totally different from the original franchise.
"This is definitely not a reboot," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "It’s an entirely new look for a classic movie. Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable."
James is also set to executive produce and star in a sequel to Space Jam, which he says is still "a ways off" for now.
