Reg E. Cathy, an actor known for starring roles on iconic television shows like The Wire and House of Cards, passed away on Friday. According to TMZ Cathy succumbed to a battle with lung cancer. He was 59 years old when he passed away in New York surrounded by loved ones.

Cathy's career spanned over 30 years, and included roles in everything from Law and Order: SVU to The Mask.
