Bresha Meadows will finally be released on Sunday

The teenage domestic abuse survivor served six months in confinement at a mental health facility.

Bresha Meadows, the teenager who was tried as an adult for killing her abusive father in self defense in 2014, will reportedly be released from the mental health facility where she has been serving time for the past six months this weekend. A Twitter account run by a community of her supporters called @FreeBresha posted the announcement about her upcoming release.

Jezebel reports that Meadows' plea deal required her to spend 10 months at the Trumbull County Juvenile Detention Center in Ohio followed by 60 days at a another juvenile detention before she was transferred to a mental health facility. For the next two years, the 16-year-old will be on probation and then her records will be "sealed and purged."
