Maxo Kream talks police brutality and the inequalities of selling weed
“But you mean to tell me you gon’ put me in jail because I was getting high?”
Maxo Kream has had a lot going on these past 12 months. He released his album Punken, which featured Trippie Redd and 03 Greedo, at the top of 2018. Last year, his family was rescued by fans in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, and the Houston rapper expanded on the kindness of his fans by going out to help other families in similar predicaments.
But not everyone is out to help each other, which is what Maxo Kream described when he visited The FADER's office recently. He broke down his observations and feelings about police targeting minorities and the larger issues with criminalizing marijuana.
"I feel like they arrest young black men, young minority males, for marijuana," explained Maxo Kream. "But then there's rich, you know, white collar white men that make billions off this shit legally. All through the country, all throughout the gotdamn world."
