C-SPAN2 was taking the mixer feed from Doug Jones victory speech and so when he finished, the only audio on C-SPAN2 was 30 solid seconds of “Teach Me How To Dougie.” pic.twitter.com/sYa6Y1bGlm

Doug Jones beat Roy Moore for a senate seat in Alabama by a narrow margin, but it was an important win nonetheless. Moore, a Republican supported by the GOP and President Donald Trump, had been accused of sexual misconduct towards underaged women in multiple cases over the past year. The allegations accompanied accusations of Moore making derogatory and hateful comments towards LGBTQ people, Muslim people, and Black people.
During his victory speech, Jones, a democrat who prosecuted members of the KKK in a landmark case while he was a U.S. Attorney, thanked all of the people who helped get him into office.
“This vote, I’ve said it before, Alabama has been at a crossroads," said Jones during his victory speech, which can be seen below. "We have been at a crossroads in the past and unfortunately we’ve usually taken the wrong fork. Tonight ladies and gentlemen you took the right fork.”
As he was leaving the stage, the best possible song began to play. "Teach Me How To Dougie" played for over thirty seconds while Doug Jones walked off the stage, which can be seen above. May that be a good omen for Alabama, and a good omen for the country.
