A memorial service will be held for Lil Peep this weekend in Long Beach, New York, the late rapper's family has announced. A post on Peep's Instagram confirmed plans for the December 2 event.
Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, grew up in Long Beach. Fans are invited to "join us in celebrating the fascinating colorful life of iconic Gus Åhr (Little Peep)" at 2 p.m. local time on Saturday at the Allergia Hotel." Speakers and refreshments are promised with a "beach gathering" closing the event. Organizers are asking donations be made to OXFAM.
Lil Peep a.k.a Gustav Åhr passed away on November 16 at the age of 21. Police are reportedly investigating the circumstances around his death, which a preliminary statement released by a medical examiner suggested was down to a drug overdose.
On Monday, Peep's mother Liza Womack co-signed a campaign to get his album Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1 to No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart.
