Uma Thurman has spoken about disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein, hitting out at both him and the "wicked conspirators" who enabled him to abuse and harass women over a number of decades.
Thurman, who worked on seven Weinstein films including the Tarantino-directed Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, wrote about him in a Thanksgiving message to fans on Instagram. She previously hinted at her feelings for the producer in a red carpet interview in October. On that occasion she said she was "too angry" to comment.
Posted alongside a picture of herself as the bride in Kill Bill, Thurman wrote that she was “grateful today, to be alive, for all those I love, and for all those who have the courage to stand up for others.”
She then appeared to confirm she had been a victim of sexual harassment and abuse while working as an actress. “I said I was angry recently, and I have a few reasons, #metoo, in case you couldn’t tell by the look on my face. I feel it’s important to take your time, be fair, be exact, so … Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators—I’m glad it’s going slowly—you don’t deserve a bullet).”
The message concluded with the words “stay tuned”, suggesting Thurman will make a further comment in the future.
Since Harvey Weinstein was exposed as a serial abuser this October he has been fired by the Weinstein Company. Earlier this month Asia Argento released a list of over 100 women who allege they were raped, assaulted, molested, and harassed by Weinstein
