Post Malone says Justin Bieber donated $10 million to a “culty” megachurch
“God doesn’t care that your church has a fucking gold roof.”
In a new Rolling Stone profile, Post Malone claimed that his friend and former tourmate Justin Bieber donated $10 million to Hillsong, a megachurch Bieber reportedly attends that is popular with many celebrities.
You won't find Post Malone in the congregation, though: he tells Rolling Stone that he considers Hillsong "a total cult," adding "God doesn't care that your church has a fucking gold roof." While Bieber is "a genuine friend," according to Post, he says they do not discuss matters of religion. Read the full exchange below (a source denied the $10 million figure to Rolling Stone).
When I ask Malone about Bieber, he calls him "a fucking awesome, great dude" and "a genuine friend." He adds, "He's gotten super-religious recently. Real culty." He's referring to Hillsong, a megachurch that Bieber belongs to. "It's not culty!" Ashlen interjects. "It's a total cult," Malone continues. "He's already given them, like, $10 million. Those are the worst kinds of people. I used to be super-religious. I believed in God. But now I see through it. It's nice to support something you believe in, I guess, but people are spending so much money, and God doesn't care that your church has a fucking gold roof." I ask if he's shared these thoughts with Bieber. "We don't talk about this stuff," he says. (A source close to Bieber denies that he's given $10 million.)
The devil recently scored a victory over Bieber, when shock rocker Marilyn Manson was awarded all of the proceeds from Bieber's "Bigger Than Satan" merchandise, which depicted Manson's image. Post Malone is currently enjoying a number 1 hit with "rockstar." His second studio album will reportedly feature Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla $ign, John Mayer and Tommy Lee.
