Brand New pulls live dates following Jesse Lacey sexual misconduct allegations
The band was due to perform in the U.K. and Ireland this week.
Brand New has canceled a series of live shows following an allegation that vocalist Jesse Lacey solicited nude images from a minor in 2002.
A woman named Nicole Elizabeth Garey claimed in a November 10 Facebook post that Lacey started requesting nudes from her over AIM when she was 15 years old and forced her to watch him masturbate on Skype. Lacey later released a statement in which he apologized for causing “pain and harm.”
The band has now pulled live shows they were due to play in London, Glasgow, and Dublin between November 16-19. Touring band member Kevin Devine confirmed his decision to pull out of the tour prior to the announcement.
Posting on Facebook on Monday, the band wrote: “Due to the events of the last few days, Brand New will be postponing it’s upcoming three shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Ticket refunds will be accepted at the original point of purchase.”
