Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in Netflix's Stranger Things, has appealed to fans of the show to be kinder to him and his cast mates online. Wolfhard called for sections of the audience to not "harass" or "actively go after" the young actors in two tweets sent on November 8.

“Hey everybody!,” Wolfhard tweeted. “I don’t wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers. Y’all know who you are.”

He added: “Why I even have to tweet that, I don’t know. Anyone who calls themselves a "fan" and actively goes after someone for literally acting and doing their job is ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii.”

Wolfhard did not signal what led to his tweets, though he was recently criticized for failing to meet fans outside a hotel. He was defended by co-stars Shannon Purser and Noah Schnapp on that occasion.
