A$AP Rocky has suggested that he will release his new album by the end of 2017. Rocky, whose most recent solo album At. Long. Last. A$AP was released in 2015, revealed the news to GQ Style as part of a new cover feature.
Asked when he wants to release his new album, the New York rapper said, "ASAP—no pun intended." Pushed as to whether that meant this year, he added: "Yes, sir." He previously made a similar claim to Complex back in August.
Speaking about the upcoming record, Rocky said: "My new album is really about testing new sounds. People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what's current 'cause it's the easy thing to do."
Expanding on this topic, he added: "The top 100 songs sound a certain way. People cater more to that because it's a bigger demographic behind that, or it's a guaranteed demographic behind that. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don't just rap—I actually make music. That's why it takes time. These sonics represent me."
Earlier this year A$AP Rocky released Cozy Tapes 2 Vol. 2: Too Cozy alongside A$AP Mob.
