Sean "Diddy" Combs is following in line with the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Chris Paul by showing his support for athletes recently targeted by Donald Trump. The hip-hop icon expressed his "blessings and support" to NFL players in a series of tweets addressing the troubling situation.
Diddy relayed the same message in a video that he uploaded on Instagram. In another post, he declared that "THE LINE HAS NOW BEEN OFFICIALLY CROSSED!!!" He adds, "Time to show him and them #blackexcellence."
Rather than apologize for his comments, Trump decided to ignite the backlash with more tweets about NFL players that kneel during the national anthem.
As previously reported, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement to the press about the ordeal. He referred to Trump's remarks as "divisive comments" and argued that his speech was a display of disrespect to the NFL organization and community.
