Beloved emo crew The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die has a new, full-length record on the way. The followup to 2015's immersive and romantic Harmlessness, this one's titled Always Foreign, and it comes out next September 29 on Epitaph.
Today FADER is debuting its first single — a taut, strobe-light-paced guitar and synth jam called "Dillon And Her Son." The song has a certain glitchy, maximalist quality that recalls the best parts of The Anniversary's turn-of-the-century Midwest classic Designing A Nervous Breakdown, which is somehow still underrated.
"This song is about aging in a world that's constantly being flipped over and trying to hold together your sense of reality," vocalist David Bello explained of “Dillon And Her Son” in an email. "It's fun, but dangerous, and sometimes you have to stomp on some snakes to clear your path to being a more stable person." Listen below.
