Mick Jagger has shared two new singles: "Gotta Get A Grip" and "England Lost," which features Skepta. The 74-year-old released the two songs in response to the current political situation in the U.K., saying he was inspired by “confusion and frustration with the times we live in.”
"Right from the off when I started writing "England Lost," I imagined having a British rapper on the track," Jagger said in a press release. "Skepta stepped in at a moment’s notice and I just loved what he did."
The Rolling Stones frontman also said that, in addition to Skepta, he's been listening to Kendrick Lamar. "I really like Kendrick Lamar, he’s also talking about discontent and he really nailed it," he said. "I thought his stuff, and what Skepta is doing, are very interesting and pretty much on the button.’’
