CELESTE is a soulful singer originally from L.A., and now living in the British seaside town of Brighton. After signing to Lily Allen's label Bank Holiday, she released her debut EP, The Milk & The Honey, earlier this year. Its title track is a slow-burning, sparse cut of electronic pop about a fantastical utopia — and the video, premiering above, is equally lush, capturing some of the more beautiful, verdant spots in London.
"I wrote 'The Milk & The Honey' around three years ago," CELESTE told The FADER in an email. "At the time I found myself drifting off from reality whenever I had a productive spell. One of these spells made me think of when my mother used to read me bedtime stories as a kid. They always began with something like, 'And once upon a time there was a girl called Celeste who lived in the land of the milk and the honey...' I don’t know why this is such a vivid memory, but it felt like a good starting point for lyrics." Watch the dreamy video above.
