Shortly after turning himself in on felony charges related to a February shooting that targeted fellow Memphis rapper Young Dolph, Blac Youngsta was released on bond, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's website. The rapper has shared a new track entitled "Birthday," addressing the situation in multiple lines in the song.
Blac Youngsta opens "Birthday" by proclaiming his innocence, before rapping, "How you gonna go and shoot your own truck up and play dead for the night/ And then press charges on me and tell the police I did that shit.” In other lines, he references Young Dolph by his given name, Adolph Thornton.
On Wednesday, an attorney for Blac Youngsta said that the rapper turned himself in because police found a van, rented in Youngsta's name, that was connected to the February shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina. His attorney claims that the vehicle was stolen before the incident occurred. Young Dolph was unharmed in the shooting, reportedly thanks to his $300,000 bulletproof car.
Representatives for Blac Youngsta and Young Dolph were not immediately available for comment. Listen to "Birthday" below.
