A Stop-Motion Movie About Michael Jackson And His Pet Chimp Bubbles Could Be On The Way
Bubbles is a new biopic about the King of Pop and his famous friend.
Netflix is in the process of acquiring Bubbles, a script about the life of Michael Jackson written from the perspective of Bubbles, his pet chimpanzee. Sources in The Hollywood Reporter claim that the deal will approach $20 million and cover worldwide rights.
The script for Bubbles received renown in 2015, when it topped the Black List, a ranking of unproduced film scripts. The film is expected to be a stop-motion animated feature similar to Charlie Kaufman's 2015 film Anomalisa. Taika Waititi, director of What We Do In Shadows and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, will helm the project along with Mark Gustafson.
