Stormzy Donated Thousands To Help Send A British Student To Harvard
The grime MC contributed £9000 toward Fiona Asiedu’s campaign.
An Oxford University student has raised the money she needed to study human development and psychology at Harvard following a generous donation from Stormzy. Fiona Asiedu needed to raise £12,000 in order to cover her tuition fees and other costs at the Ivy League college and set up an online campaign to crowdfund the money.
Asiedu, who was was vice-president of Oxford University's African and Caribbean society in 2016, made the full amount in less than 24 hours after launching on May 15 when Stormzy was alerted to her effort and donated three quarters of the amount needed.
Stormzy's representatives confirmed to BBC News that the anonymous donation was from the MC.
Stormzy's only public comment on the crowdfunding effort was a reply to a tweet from someone alerting him to Asiedu's page.

Fiona Asiedu, 21, said on her crowdfunding page that she estimated she needed £59,000 for "tuition, health, rent & utilities, books & supplies, transportation and personal expenses" to last her one year at Harvard. She begins her studies in August.
