Mykki Blanco's new music video for "Hideaway" opens with a brief spoken portion. "When we choose to stigmatize those living with HIV, we do a disservice to our own humanity," the rapper says. Blanco, who has been HIV positive since 2011, continues, "Love and happiness, compassion, they're birthrights of the human condition. 37 million people living with HIV deserve that, just like anyone else."

The Daisy Zhou-directed video was released today through W Magazine and amFAR in honor of National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day. In the video, Blanco, wearing a floor-length pink gown, watches over a couple as they fight and eventually come together over one of them being HIV positive.
