Mega-producer Terrace Martin captures disorienting heartache in his short film, "Velvet Portrait." Throughout cinematic vignettes, a man stumbles through his pain after a past love has gone awry. As he roams the streets haunted by old memories and photographs, Martin's evocative tracks follow the troubled lover as he struggles to carve out a new path under the night sky.
"I've always looked at music as being the soundtrack to life. Music makes you love — it's so healing, yet it also has the power to shift you to a dark side as well," Martin said to The FADER over email. "I wanted something to represent real life. I got with a great crew of writers & directors, Aplus Filmz, a great producer, Beny Ashburn, and some great new actors and dancers. After that art was made."
