Rick Ross released his album Rather You Than Me on Thursday night and it's already making waves, specifically for the two people he dissed: Nicki Minaj and Birdman.
On the opening track, "Apple of My Eye," Ross raps, "I told Meek I wouldn't trust Nicki/Instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance," referencing the break up of Minaj and Meek Mill.
A week ago, Meek Mill referenced the lyrics in an Instagram post by captioning a photo of him and Ross with, "Rozay been told me don't trust you."
Ross also took shots at Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman on the song "Idols Become Rivals." The whole song is filled with lyrics that have Ross lamenting all the ways that Birdman has disappointed him. The most noteworthy lines are the ones that reference Lil Wayne, who has been in a very public feud with Birdman for years.
"I pray you find the kindness in your heart for Wayne/His entire life, he gave you what there was to gain/I watched this whole debacle so I'm part to blame/Last request, can all producers please get paid," Ross raps in the third verse.
Ross posted an Instagram earlier on Thursday after "Idols Become Rivals" leaked. Ross captioned the post with, "The Level of respect and Love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation," referencing the beef between Birdman and Wayne.
Later, Wayne responded by tweeting a screenshot of Ross's Instagram and writing, "dam big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start. I needed that. 1 boss 2 another."
