Ca$tro Guapo and FIJI Flex In The Frost For The “Wrist” Video

The CMDWN Collective brings its 2015 hit back with visuals.

March 15, 2017

"Wrist" dropped in 2015, but the CMDWN Collective's Ca$tro Guapo and FIJI are out to prove the song is still a banger with some new visuals, premiering today on The FADER. The Lawraines-directed clip places the Toronto rappers and a sports car near a storage facility and a mansion. Sure, their wrists may not have any diamonds attached to them, but the flexing is what makes the plinking track still so much fun in 2017.

"I remember the day we made 'Wrist,'" FIJI told The FADER over email. "It was 6:00 a.m. and we hadn't slept yet. I played Castro this beat and warned him that it was very different than our other shit, instantly though we both loved the vibe." Ca$tro enjoyed the spontaneous nature of the song's composition, and added, "Fiji began singing a hook, and I laid on voice notes and anything that came to mind. My bars made no sense but it was the joy behind it that made it so special. That was the day Fiji and I knew we was yin and yang."
