March 9 marks the 20th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.'s death in 1997. Puff Daddy, a close associate of Biggie back in the day, is marking the occasion with a social media-led campaign designed at celebrating the life and lyrics of the late rapper.
In a video shared on Twitter and Instagram in the early hours of the day, Diddy asked fans to record themselves rapping their favorite B.I.G. verses for "something special" that he is working on. "I want you to rap your favorite Biggie verse and post it with the hashtag #WeMissYouBIG," he said. "I'm going to chop it up, edit it up, and everything and we're going to put out something special with all the fans and friends involved in Notorious B.I.G.'s life."
Check out the video above. Earlier this week it was reported that actor Wavyy Jonez will portray Biggie in the upcoming TV show Unsolved. Meanwhile, the car the Brooklyn rapper was shot in 20 years ago is being auctioned by its current owner for $1.5m.
