In anticipation of Moonlight's success at the Oscars ceremony, The Chopstars gave the film's soundtrack the chopped not slopped treatment. The original mix, Purple Moonlight, placed soundtrack highlights like Goodie Mob's "Cell Therapy" and Aretha Franklin's "One Step Ahead" in slow-motion, and adds in related tracks like Kendrick's "Alright" for good measure. Now, Barry Jenkins and the Chopstars have come together to extend the mix with new offerings from Future, Kehlani, 2 Chainz, and more.
It's a cool meditation on the original source material, which of course, already featured some chopped and screwed moments of its own. The Chopstars also recently put their spin on Lemonade and A Seat at the Table, as well as MIgos' C U L T U R E. The mix is now available for download on AudioMack.
