Erykah Badu Shares Rare Footage From A 1995 Open Mic Performance

Baduizm, Erykah Badu's iconic 1997 debut, is twenty years old this year. The anniversary actually fell on February 11 but Badu is clearly in a nostalgic mood and has shared some old footage of herself performing an early version of Baduizm track "On & On" via Facebook.

The clip was recorded in 1995 at Brooklyn's Moon Cafe. Badu posted it alongside the comment, “I guess you just gotta take that first leap…huh? One night I did.”

Badu's most recent project came in the form of 2015 mixtape But You Caint Use My Phone. She recently teased a joint EP release with her "WiFi" collaborator, D.R.A.M.
