A Ninth Circuit federal appeals panel voted unanimously today to deny a bid to reinstate Donald Trump's immigration ban, as The New York Times reports.
Trump's executive order, which temporary halted travel and immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries, has been blocked by a number of trial judges nationwide. The appeals panel's decision concerns a ruling issued last week by Washington state judge James Robart blocking aspects of the ban in response to a lawsuit brought on behalf of the states of Washington and Minnesota by their respective Attorney Generals.
The three-judge panel voted to uphold Robart's decision, imposing a temporary block on the ban while courts consider its lawfulness. The decision will likely be appealed to The Supreme Court in the near future.
Naturally, the president responded shortly after with an all-caps anger tweet, saying, "SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!" Trump tweet follows an initial set of comments in which he called Robart a "so-called judge" and implored the American public to "blame him" if a terror attack should happen anytime soon.
