Romeo Santos has debuted the cover of his new single “Héroe Favorito,” and it depicts the bachata star in a super hero costume, designed in conjunction with Marvel. Santos told Billboard on Wednesday that the outfit was inspired by the Punisher, but there's also a bit of X-Men in the gold trim, and a dash of Sailor Moon's Tuxedo Mask in Santos's not-so-secret eye covering.
Santos made the suit with Marvel Custom. "I always had this fascination with superheroes," Santos told Billboard. "Who didn't love Hulk and Spider-Man?" The suit only exists as a concept, and Santos has no plans to actually build a real prototype.
Golden, Romeo Santos's upcoming album, doesn't yet have a release date. But it has a direction: a fusion of jazz and bachata. "Jazz is not typically commercial; you don't hear much jazz on mainstream radio." Santos said. "[But] if you're a bachata fan and you're like, 'I don't really know if I dig jazz,' I don't think it's going to be a problem." The first single from Golden, "“Héroe Favorito," is out February 17.
