5 Collections We’re Stoked About From New York Fashion Week: Men’s

Homages to Houston, wearable quilts, and literal statement pieces.

During last week’s New York Fashion Week: Men’s, there were a few things that stood out to us: more shows utilized models that weren’t necessarily “models,” several new designers showed their lines with increasingly out-of-the-box presentation styles, and first-time presenters used their platforms to make a political statement. Of those who presented, below are five designers whose Fall collections really peaked our attention.

1. LANDLORD

2. Palomo Spain

24-year-old designer Alejandro Gomez Palomo channeled baroque, feminine looks for his debut NYFW Men’s collection and the result was divine.

3. BODE

These are clothes you actually want to wear, day in and day out. BODE’s one-of-a-kind, quilted pieces shined in a stunning, kinetic presentation featuring young, New York creatives performing daily mundanities on a Cape Cod-styled set.

4. Patrik Ervell

This was essential Patrik Ervell: wide-legged leather pants, boxy outerwear, and blocky black footwear. The designer continues to take cues from architectural design and the result is as enviable as ever this time around.

5. Willy Chavarria

Mexican-American designer Willy Chavarria’s presentation and pieces championed fearlessness and inclusion in the face of oppression — a much-welcomed sentiment in light of the times we’re in.
