After Donald Trump issued the executive order on January 27 banning immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, many artists, celebrities, and even corporations spoke out about the unjust policy. Citizens began forming protests on the 28th and the 29th to speak out against the Muslim immigration ban.
Dave Chappelle was one of the celebrities that ended up joining protestors. The Muslim comedian was spotted at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, where he gave a brief speech. "Donald Trump, wherever you are, I am BEGGING you! Stop ruining my Sundays," Chappelle began jokingly. "“We are all here because what you [Trump] are doing does not seem right. As a matter of fact, it sucks. I support refugees, I support immigrants, and I love my friends and neighbors. Thank you.” Watch the speech below.
Dave Chappelle converted to Islam in the 1990s. In an interview with Time, the comedian explained that he didn't like to discuss his religious beliefs in public. "I don't normally talk about my religion publicly because I don't want people to associate me and my flaws with this beautiful thing," said Chappelle. "And I believe it is beautiful if you learn it the right way."
