Philip Glass Announces Year-Long Carnegie Hall Residency

Former FADER Icon Issue cover star Philip Glass is set to begin a residency at Carnegie Hall, where he'll take over the Debs Composer's Chair for the 2017-2018 season, FACT reports.

The legendary composer will kick things off by debuting a new piece, Symphony No. 11, on his 80th birthday, January 31. Several more events have been announced for the coming months, including a concert in which composer Nico Muhly will take on lesser-known rarities from Glass's storied catalog.

Other events will feature guest ensembles, including the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Pacific Symphony, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus, who will join him to perform his Music with Changing Parts. More info here.
