Lady Leshurr, the diminutive rapper from Birmingham, England, has two types of freestyle. There's the Queen's Speech series, which is light-hearted and filled with pop culture references, and there's the less frequent #Unleshed series which takes a more serious tone.
The second in that latter series arrived yesterday, January 23, and sees Leshurr open up about feeling "trapped" in her own head and even detailing a racist attack that she was the victim of. "My anxiety is killing me/ Making my mind go mad/ I'm scared to go to the shop because people know who I am," she says at one point. "Sometimes I want to leave this place because no one knows how it is."
