If you too have been addicted to the BBC's characteristically mind-blowing nature documentary Planet Earth II in recent weeks, you might have wondered: why on planet Earth can I not get Sir David Attenborough's face on a T-shirt? Thankfully, an independent brand in the U.K. has stepped up to meet the nation's need.
Homage Tees is an online store where you can purchase brassy, early '90s-style tees that pay respects to British legends as disparate and important as Attenborough, Louis Theroux, Princess Diana, Nigella Lawson, George Michael, and Mystic Meg (the TV psychic who used to appear on the weekly National Lottery).
Reached by email, the anonymous creators behind the brand told The FADER: "Homage Tees began in summer '16...so we could celebrate our beloved British OGs and icons that deserve recognition. We pay homage to anyone who has earned a place in our hearts over the years, contributed to our culture, and deserves to have their face on a T-shirt."
In recent weeks, Homage Tees has launched E.U. and U.S. online pop-up stores, in their own words, "so we could pay homage to some of our international, overseas dons who deserve it." There's never been a better way to show that you're Team Angelina, or a Björk stan — and just in time for the holidays.
