In case you missed it, Rick Ross shared the video for his new track "Buy Back the Block" on Friday, featuring 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane and a brief cameo by 21 Savage. If you haven't checked it out yet, the eight-minute clip shows Gucci and Ross washing a car and discussing how they can buy back and invest in all the businesses on the block.
The theme of the video evokes the recent initiative by NON Record's Chino Amobi launched this summer to empower and encourage people to begin investing in black-owned businesses and communities. We can only hope that Ross' track, which is likely to appear on his next album Rather You Than Me, will inspire people to try and actually "buy back the block." (Here's a list of black-owned businesses to help you get started.)
If anything, watch the video for the amazing acting by Gucci and Ross, above.
