Netflix has launched a feature that allows users to download streaming video from the platform and watch offline on smartphones and tablets, TechCrunch points out. The service has added a "download" button to select movies and shoes, with more to be added soon, that allows users worldwide to watch while offline.
“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their ‘Stranger Things’ binge while on airplanes and other places where internet is expensive or limited,” wrote Eddy Wu, Netflix’s director of product innovation, in a blog post announcing the feature.
Among the titles available for download now are Netflix's Orange Is The New Black, Narcos, and The Crown. The new feature is available to all Netflix subscribers and is comparable with phones and tablets on Android and iOS.
