Alexander Spit’s New Album Was Created Entirely In 10 Hours

Listen to Alive at Virgil Normal now.

November 21, 2016

L.A.-via-Bay rapper and producer Alexander Spit set up shop at Silverlake boutique Virgil Normal on Saturday for a special, one-of-a-kind project. Over the course of about ten hours, Spit invited musicians, rappers, and vocalists to contribute to Alive at Virgil Normal, a ten-song album recorded live and mixed on the spot.

The resulting collection is full of laid-back, soulful jams, that pull in everything from warm, live instrumental takes, to dusty samples, to Auto-Tuned vocals. L.A.'s Hugh Augustine and singer-songwriter Theo Martins drop in for guest spots as well. 100 copies of the release, which was also pressed to tape on-site, are available in-store or here, via Spit. Stream the project below.
