Glenn Beck: “Obama Made Me A Better Man”
“There are things unique to the African-American experience that I cannot relate to,” the conservative commentator said.
In a new profile at The New Yorker, Glenn Beck, former Fox News host and founder of conservative news network The Blaze, has revealed that he supports Black Lives Matter and said that the presidency of Barack Obama "made me a better man."
The pundit who once said that Obama had "a deep-seated hatred for white people" was forthright about his newly-progressive leanings. “There are things unique to the African-American experience that I cannot relate to,” he said. “I had to listen to them.” He called Michelle Obama's recent speech in New Hampshire blasting Donald Trump's predatory remarks was “the most effective political speech I have heard since Ronald Reagan... If you’re a decent human being, those words were dead on."
Many Trump supporters were angered when Beck condemned the Republican presidential candidate, by saying that voting against him is "moral" and "ethical." In The New Yorker, Beck relayed the effects of a "weird, almost Howard Hughes-like conversation" he had with Trump. This guy is dangerously unhinged,” he said. “And, for all the things people have said about me over the years, I should be able to spot Dangerously Unhinged.”
His candor was not limited to his appreciation for Obama and distaste for Trump. “So much of what I used to believe was either always a sham or has been made into a sham," he said. "There’s nothing deep.”
