On Tuesday, Google introduced two new Android smartphones, the Pixel and Pixel HD. The phones are made by HTC, but designed by Google and branded explicitly as "phone by Google."
The Pixel and Pixel HD - differentiated by the size and pixel of the screens - run a specialized version of Google's Android software that includes Google's Daydream virtual reality platform. One of Google's biggest selling points with the Pixel is the camera: A 12.3-megapixel resolution with large 1.55-micron pixels and an f/2.0 aperture. Google says that its new camera has "the shortest capture time on any mobile camera ever."
The Pixel starts at $649 for the smaller 5-inch Pixel with 32GB of storage and goes up to $869 for the XL with 128GB. The phone is available for pre-order today. See more previews of the new Pixel smartphone by Google below via The Verge.
