In the first scene from "Generation Why," Natalie Mering's latest visual for her indie-folk outfit Weyes Blood, a man reaches into the circuit board of an old computer and comes out with a human heart. The symbolism in the video is fairly overt: Mering and her two male companions walk the beach, interrupted only by the reflections of smartphone screens and destroyed hard drives. At one point, Mering holds a '90s Nokia phone to her ear as blood begins to run down her cheek. The new track is taken from Weyes Blood's Front Row Seat To Earth project, which will arrive on October 21 via Mexican Summer. Watch the new video for "Generation Why" above.
