Tyler, The Creator Says Frank Ocean’s Blonde Album Made Him “So Much Of A Fanboy”
Tyler discusses emerging fashion trends, his Golf Le Fleur collection, and more in a new interview.
Tyler, The Creator has been working hard this year. In June, the 25-year-old made his runway debut with his Golf Wang clothing line, which featured skate ramps and an appearance from Kanye West. Tyler recently sat down for an interview with GQ Style to talk about his upcoming Golf Le Fleur collection, his distaste for emerging style trends, and his love of Frank Ocean's new album.
With regard to recent streetwear trends, Tyler expressed his disapproval of the way that certain items have become ubiquitous. "I mean, everyone’s in, like, what? A torn tee of some band they don’t like," he said. "Some ripped jeans. A dad hat. Everyone is wearing dumb tour tees right now. That shit is weird. You don’t even like that band. Why are you wearing that?"
Tyler also discussed his love for Frank Ocean's Blonde album, saying that the project is "[his] favorite thing from him." He continued, "It’s weird because I’m friends with him and this album made me so, so, so much of a fanboy. It’s crazy because I was with him when it came out, like that week or whatever, and I kept complimenting him on certain songs, certain little things that I liked in different songs. And I low-key think he started getting annoyed cause I just kept badgering him about how much I liked the album. But I really, really fucking like it."
