Mozzy has been working at a furious pace for the last several years. The Sacramento rapper's strong string of regionally touted mixtapes culminated in the release of his Mandatory Check album in June, but he shows no signs of letting up.

The new video for his "Messy Murder Scenes" single, which premieres on The FADER today, finds Mozzy returning home to his Oak Park neighborhood with an air of royal confidence. But, as is often the case in his music, Mozzy has one foot pointing towards his rap career's bright future, while the other is still firmly placed in the grim realities of Oak Park. This conflict is especially apparent when, over June Onna Beat's ominous piano chords, he boasts about money made from recent performances before rapping: A sucka died, I love the nigga that murdered him/ Another sucka died, I love the nigga that murdered him.

"This video represents me, my jurisdiction, and my hip hop career," Mozzy told The FADER over email. "I'm tryna murder this game and represent Sacramento, Oak Park and this Mozzy movement. It's the pain, the struggle, and passion for this shit - at Granny house like I gotta get on."

"Messy Murder Scenes" is the first single from Mozzy's One Up Top Ahk album, which is due out on October 14 and up for pre-order now.
