In a new documentary Desiigner gives viewers a glimpse into where he came from. I Am Def Jam: Desiigner showcases the rapper in a home studio, back in his Brooklyn community, and even in his old bedroom at his parent's house. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper speaks on how music saved his life when he was getting into a lot of trouble as a youth. Including being shot. He also discusses how he feels it's his job now to come back to his community and show it's possible to make it out.

Finally in the short clip, the cameras make it into his childhood bedroom where a bunch of family members are hanging, doting on Desiigner. The excitement is palpable as the fam says he doesn't get back home as often as they'd like. Watch the mini-doc above.
