It's a classic double-edged sword, as old as time: you get to meet your long-lost dad, but the tradeoff? You're going to see his junk. Brendan Canning's new video "Book It To Fresno" explores this archetypal story, soundtracked by the Broken Social Scene co-founder's latest single. With its wall of warm guitar tones and kinfolk vibe, the tune's as comforting as an old hearth, and the perfect soundtrack for touching visuals about rediscovering your roots and feeling comfortable in your own skin.

"'Book it to Fresno' was written in my living room in downtown Toronto with my band mates," Canning told The FADER over email. "It was one of those glorious moments where the music was in charge and no time needed to be wasted discussing chord changes or how long the bridge should be. If everyone is speaking the same musical language you get lucky sometimes with a spontaneous moment that quickly forms into a song."

"We've wanted to explore the theme of naturism in a video for quite some time now," directors Luke McCuthcheon and Mike Yablonski wrote. "When this song came around it felt like a great fit. We were also just tired of making videos with our clothes on. Thanks to the community at Bare Oaks we were able to make that dream come true.”
