The lineup for Red Bull Music Academy Montreal 2016 has been announced. Björk, Iggy Pop, a collaboration between Fucked Up & Tanya Tagaq, Tim Hecker, Chilly Gonzales, Tiga, Jacques Greene, Jean-Michel Blais, CFCF, and many more will take place during the festival, which runs throughout the city from September 24 to October 28.
Some of the notable events this year will include: A special edition of RBMA's Drone Activity In Progress with emerging Quebec metal bands; a retrospective of Montreal's disco scene; a label night with the Vancouver-based 1080p, and; an "underwater sound experience" with a specially built sound system inside the Olympic Pool of Montreal. Björk, who will perform DJ sets at the festival, is also the focus of a visual retrospective at the the DHC/ART Foundation for Contemporary Art. It takes place from October 15 to November 12, and will host the artist's latest VR video along with her five previous VR releases. Iggy Pop will hold a talk at the Ludger-Duvernay on September 26, but will not perform.
